About Us: How I Built a Thriving Home Decor Blog From My Tiny Apartment
As I sit here typing this in my 500 square foot studio apartment, it’s honestly hard for me to believe how far my little home decor blog has come. Just a few years ago, I was a frustrated renter struggling to make the most of my cramped living space. Now, I get to share my small space design tips with thousands of readers every month. It’s been quite a journey!
I guess you could say my “about us” story really starts back when I first moved into this apartment. I had just graduated college and landed my first “real” job in the city. I was so excited to finally have my own place, but that excitement quickly turned to disappointment once I saw the tiny floor plan. Coming from a spacious family home, I had no idea how to make such a small space feel livable, let alone stylish.
I must have spent weeks scouring the internet for small apartment decorating ideas. I tried every space-saving hack and DIY project I could find, but so many of them just didn’t work for my specific setup. The furniture that looked perfect in the photos ended up feeling cramped and awkward in my place. And my attempts at DIY wall art and shelving units usually ended in disaster (and a few holes in the drywall).
It was incredibly frustrating, but I refused to give up. I kept experimenting, taking notes, and trying new things. Slowly but surely, I started to get the hang of small space living. But through it all, I’ve stayed true to my original vision. This blog is all about providing practical, relatable small space design advice – no fluff, no unrealistic expectations. I want my readers to look at the photos and think, “Hey, I could actually do that in my place!” And based on the feedback I’ve gotten, I’d say I’m succeeding.
These days, my little home decor blog has turned into a thriving business. I have thousands of monthly readers, a robust social media following, and a growing list of brand partnerships. But at the end of the day, it’s still the same passion project that started in my 500 square foot studio. I’m just a regular person who loves making the most of small spaces, and I’m honored to share that passion with others.
